I use my PC for work and play, so-to-speak. During the day, I boot Linux for my work–which encompasses running a bunch of docker containers with running code for the core product that I develop for. During the late afternoon/evening, I play games with friends/AAA titles at 4K.
For clarity, the GPU I use is a 4070ti.
With all of this being said, I am curious–especially with me gaming at 4K–if I will see a measurable difference between the 7700X and 7800X3D. When it comes to my work related tasks, a 7700X or 7800X3D will make a notable difference compared to the 5600G and DDR4 that is currently in my system.
I failed to mention this, but I am aware of the upgrade from AM4 to AM5 being necessary. Thanks for your response, I was sort of thinking the same thing. Considering the performance of the 7950x with the CCD disabled, I would say the performance of the 7800X3D will be pretty solid.
