In a quick turn around I need to find a new laptop for the company I work. I am fine finding the a make and model but I want to detail first the business level requirements e.g.
TPM
AMT
Docking Station
Webcam/mic
Extendable Battery
Global warrenty
LAN/WLAN BIOS (hardware) switching
Kensington lock
Privacy screen mounts
MS SCCM driver pack
and the normal 8GB, SSD, icore5, good res screen, weight etc.
Have I missed anything that I need to consider?
Maybe the version of windows
You can only have windows fail 8 now with new hardwhere unfortunately anless you buy something a little older.
You can allway's wipe it off and install w7 pro/ultimate
Good point about the OS but we would at a business level buy with Open DOS (in the case of a HP or with Win8) and replace with a VL edition of Win7 ent.
The point is very valid that it needs driver support for Win7
I'd suggest a Ultrabook for good processing power, good enough graphics and great battery life
