So I have been noticing a trend in my country(in europe).Less and less pc stores have AMD pilderiver and bulldozer cpu's.I'm constantly running on out of stock, discontinued or only a few left in stock labes on those products.U can't even order them.....
Maybe we will see a FX steamroller chip sooner than expected ?
I wouldn't say that they are going to be discontinued, and AMD released a statement that Steamroller won't be out until next year. There is quite the possibilty that in your area there is a supply deficeit. Also, brick and mortar stores at least in the United States don't even sell processors, you'd have to go to a specialty computer store and they're far and few between. Have you tried looking at Amazon UK, and other tech websites for your area?
It's like u didn't read what I wrote....I said I have been looking at pc specialized stores only. And all of them are running out of the FX series procesors. Most of them are putting sales on those cpu's.U can't order them anymore as in the store can't or won't order them. One pc specialized store ran out of the fx8320 cpu and they labeled it as end of distribution, meaning they will never ever have it again, and this particural store is a webshop that works in a couple of eu states....Ofcouse newegg and amazon will have it,they will be the last ones to run out
I have not seen anything in the news to back that claim, and doing a little research doesn't show much light either. Possibly a store error?
As for Gr33n:

I don't see Steamroller on their 2013 roadmap, only Vishera. I also read that their first Steamroller based chips will be Kabini APU's rolling out next year.
Neither do I..that's what's bugging me.It might be a error if it was just one store involved. So far I came across one that discontinued a coouple of fx chips, the 8320 is the last one.I came across 2 stores that are putting fx ships on sale due to a few left in stock and 2 more stores that have a few 8350's and no other model.Bare in mid that all of these stores are pc specialized, and that I have been looking at their fx stock for a couple of months, since the first time I noticed a lack of them...It's not one store and it's not something I came across today.Combining this trend in pc stores with the fact that AMD did not say a single word about the new FX Steamroller chips it very suspicios,at least it is to me.Steamroller was originally planned to be released in this year
