I am doing CPU swaps on about 20 cascade lake xeon chips and need a bunch of thermal paste. All the typical retail options are pretty small quantity. Any recommendations on what I can work with to have plenty of paste on hand without paying out the nose?
also you can google “bulk thermal paste” or “bulk thermal grease” i have bought random 4oz jars of the white generic stuff and used it on everything from amps to CPUs and it has been fine. there are 2oz jars of silver based paste and lots of stuff fairly readily available.
if you can find a whole sheet of PTM 7950 that may do well for you.
You can get Arctic MX-4 in 20 and 45 gram (currently OOS) tubes. 20 g ends up being a dollar per gram, but the 45 is only 5 bucks more nearly bringing the cost down to 50 cents per gram if you can find it.
