From what my grandfather has told me, this is what mopeds used to be. Motor pedals. You can pedal or you can use a motor. Seems like an electric moped according to the original definition of moped instead of the vespa/scooter definition widely used today. Would like to see more of these.
Great thing is that here in CA, these have been clasified as "power assisted bicycles" ... not a motorized vehicle.
