Built in speakers, dual monitors

so im going to be getting a second asus vs278q-p and i have a question about the built in speakers for it before it comes in.

the way i have it pictured in my head is that ill have 1 monitor connected using displayport and 1 connected through hdmi, is there someway i can setup the audio so that 1 monitor plays left sound and the other plays right? or would i have to use different cables if its even possible to have it like that? there is a 3.5mm audio jack on the back of each monitor if i need to go that route but then i would need a splitter of some kind i think?

if i cant get right and left would they just both play sound no problem without much setup?

reason i wanna do this is so i dont have just 1 monitor playing sound and the other is just silent, cause that would be annoying.

With your setup, no, not with ANY simplicity anyway. there MAY be a homebrew software solution, but I have yet to see it.    HOWEVER, you CAN use the 3.5 jack behind your pc and buy a 3.5 to RCA (white/red) cable and run it to an audio receiver, then place the speakers where you want them, just not too close to the screens. You can even do this with a desktop stereo in some cases, assuming the system has an "aux in" option. this will split your signal in the same way you are talking about into right and left
