Building my FIRST PC

I usually just stick to Amazon, but that's just a personal preference, but usually the best website to buy things from, is the one with the best prices

So I should get the 7850, which version? Like Sapphire, Diamond, Generique and how many fans and ram? I am a noob D:

I would say, Sapphire, and since you said you're going to play Skyrim, 2 gb of Video Ram would be ideal

okey :) How long would it take to render a 720p video do you think just roughly?

To get you an idea, 1 hour of 720p footage will take around 1.5 hours

omg, right now my comp takes 2 hours for 10 mins 720p video

Then you'll be a happy camper when using this computer

one tip i can give get the 7870xt(tahiti LE 1536 shader) version over the normal, best band for the buck PERIOD at the moment.

something to note, if you do 2 pass encoding, a 8350 with 4.5+ghz overclock will be faster then a 3570k (even with oc), I have tested both, the current x264 is slower on first past with amd, but in the encode pass, it FLYS (smokes intel) so if encodings your big thing, you may want to consider a 8350 build.....could get more bang for your buck.

I uh was looking at getting a 7850 cause I haven't got enough left in my budget... :3

So should I get Sapphire 2GB Radeon HD 7850? Thanks :)

Get it and overclock it a bit, you'll be set for all your needs

Will I be needing more fans?

I'm based in the UK, let me crunch some numbers for you.

Okay, thanks :)

Firstly I wouldn't buy from Scan, their delivery is very good but it comes at a cost.

CPU - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B007RUZKK6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

Mobo - http://www.dabs.com/products/asus-p8z77-v-lx-s1155-intel-z77-ddr3-atx-80TK.html - there is a cheaper version the LXV2, £10 cheaper, it's missing a DVI port but there have been a number of reports from people who say they're struggling to get decent overclocks on the motherboard. I'll leave it upto you to decide.

GPU - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/388867 - these have seen a massive price drop.  They're being phased out.  It's a shame you didn't post on Saturday, Ebuyer had the Tahiti LE version for only £171!  Would have been well within your budget.  They now cost £180.  This is Powercolor version is a heavily overclocked 7870 with a custom cooler.

PSU - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004RJ8EKI/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A17AS5ETPMZ9A1 - A rebadged Seasonic PSU.  Great quality.

RAM - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/408617 - Low profile RAM.  If you plan to get an air cooler for your CPU to overclock it later down the line, these RAM sticks will ensure compatibility.

HDD - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/319639 - The WD Blue version is only £2 more btw.  Flip a coin if you must.

Case - http://www.dabs.com/products/antec-one-gaming-case-mid-tower-atx-7YWQ.html - Great reviews all round.  USB 3.0 headers. Alot sturdier than the case you've chosen.

Total = £599.69 - Price includes delivery!

Since all items are in stock they should arrive by the end of this week or early next week.  I've ordered form these suppliers before.  Dabs btw have excellent RMA service.

Also check out Hotukdeals as well and set the filter to 'Computer'.  Some great deals to be had across the board.

Will I need more fans for my case? Is the air flow good?

I have the same exact backstory as you. I just bought my computer yesterday :D and it costed a bit over 1100$, and your budget is 900$ so I thought you could use some of my choices.

CPU- 3570k

Cooler- Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo

GPU- GTX 670 FTW ( you could get a 660ti and run bf3 amazing. Also check out this, it give the best setting for visibility and instead of all ultra for eyecandy http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/forum/threadview/2832654625188503517/)

SDD/HDD- Seagate 1tb 7200rpm and Adata sx900 128gb

Motherboard- Asrock extreme 4 z77 (I'm pretty sure you could just go for extreme 3 or pro3 version for some money saving)

RAM- Mushkin 8gb 1600mhz and 8cas

PSU-SeaSonic 750w power supply

Case-Coolermaster HAF 912

CD Drive- Some asus one

Change anything you don't like on here. I've done lots of research over the past 7 months and this seems like the best PC I could possibly build. I've made tons of revisions to it and the only part that is the same the first time I picked out parts was the Mushkin RAM. :P

Could you possibly give links to the ssd and hdd maybe? I need a second hdd for recording to but I need to safe more money :3

I actually live in the UK and shop for computer parts all the time. I've done so for many years.  There is no way he could squeeze a GTX 670 into his budget of £600.  We actually pay slightly more for our parts here in the UK, so the conversion of dollar to GBP never works out for us unfortunately.  I wish it did! I could certainly get more for my money.

I do agree that the Extreme 4 is the best overclocking motherboard for the price.  If he purchased both the Asrock Extreme 4 and the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo, he would be around £40 over budget.

@ Dede11g, trust me, for the budget of £600, that is the best I could squeeze for you.  I could perhaps downgrade your case to a Fractal 1000 and upgrade your motherboard to an Z77 Extreme 4.  I could also downgrade your GPU to a 7850 2GB version and include the Cooler Master Hyper 212 if you wish.  But honestly for pure out of the box performance, the one I've linked will be the best buy.

If you want that alternative build, give me a shout

How much would you save if you changed the case? Cause I need a bit more money to buy a second HDD to record to :/
