Building an 8bit computer

First of all, I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section etc.

I've been hoping to build an 8 bit computer for quite some time. However, after doing some research I am at a loss at how to go about this project. (I am finding very little documentation on actually how to build it).

I was just wondering if anyone on here could give me an insight/enlighten me on how to accomplish this task.

Thanks,

Build one in minecraft.

Then one in real life.

^^ c: it is a very educating game

Thanks for the reply, but what I want to do is more like sort of recreating something like spectrum. So a proper graphics display and everything, not just a basic output to Nixie tubes, The thing is I don't even know if the principle is the same...

The reason why i'm doing this is for a school project plus i've always had an interest in building one just for the experience except never got round to do it... Now's the perfect excuse. I also have a year to create it so its not like im pushed for time.

good luck.

here is the spectrum board

better start soldering.
