Building a system, Windows 8 costs less, so windows 7 or windows 8?

Windows 8 currently costs less than windows 7 so which one should i get for gaming and video/photo editing and re=ndering. what are the advantages and disadvantages, please be as detailed as possible.

Thanks :)

8 isnt that bad i use both since my laptop came with it if its cheaper go for it.

8 isnt bad if you use start is back. Logan did a great vid on it. Check it out.

Windows 8

7.5. As in Windows 8 with StartIsBack or similar. Windows 8 runs much faster for me than windows 7 ever did, even when using an external HDD in an old laptop

I echo everything that has been said so far. I got 8 because of the cost, and sans some striking interface things (like the dialog box to open a file with or set a default program to open file types) with start is back it is pretty much Windows 7.5 (those startup/logoff/shutdown speed gains are killer). One thing I hate(ish) is the fact that they took out "end process" to forcably kill a program from the task manager. So now the default way that I have found to kill an unresponsive program is to simply log out and then back in (anoyying but its not like it happens everyday).

Windows 8.

SptontaniusF they didnt take it out, its just a button now and called end task. (Lower right hand corner of task manager after you inlarge the manager.)

End task is different from end process. End task has always been there, it simply means send the call to end that certain task, and its dependent on the application responding. End process is the function that used to force-ably end a process immediately. This means that you can't force-ably end a hanging program, you have to wait for windows to end it for you (or like I said logging out is an en masse end process so you end up having to kill everything all at once, although like I said it is immediate.)
