Building a PC for a younger sibling

Hey tek members,

This is gonna be a quick post cause I have some errands to do. Anyways I'm gonna be building a PC for my little sister and need some sort of baseline suggestions of components.

It would be great if you guys can give some recommendations and suggestions.

Also I just need suggestions for the core components, already have peripherals. Oh and must be from U. S. vendors, preferably but not limited to Amazon, NCIX.US, or Newegg.

 -Budget: $700-$1000 (more or less..)

-Use: some gaming, family use (it's a PC primarily for my little sister and her first proper PC at that, long story short she wanted to get a console and now I'm here...)

-Case: any suggestions for some small Prodigy like ITX cases with integrated RGB lighting similar to a Phanteks Luxe? (or is getting a Prodigy and installing some RGB LED's the best option?)

I will be giving my Asus DCU2 Top 280X and spare 750W PSU for this PC so that's those components out of the way, I just need help choosing the rest.

If you guys can leave feedback as to why you recommend what you recommend that would be great and if y'all need more info just let me know and I'll edit the post.

Thanks in advance.

here is my quick attempt at picking some components: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/R4fbVn

I have a question? Do you have a Micro Center near you? And if so would you be willing to make a trip to get a CPU. I just got a i5 4590 for 160$ there.

There is a Micro Center over an hour away with several of those 4590's at that price O___O

What would be some good mobo's for it? I've been out of the loop with the current stuff..

You might want to consider a single 240GB SSD if your younger sibling doesn't know how to install programs onto a second D: drive.

I don't know of any Mini ITX or Micro ATX cases which have RGB lighting.  I've left the case out for now.

Pick up the CPU at microcenter!

throw your good PSU and good GPU in here and give your sibling the old one PC    lol .... X)

That's a solid looking build right there, my pcpartpicker skills are lacking..

Yeah I can look for a case she will like with her later, it's not that big a deal as the core components.

I know right lol.

Nah I'll be building a new PC for me later.

Sorry I have been away. I was working on my own upgrade. Yes if you can get the 4590 at microcenter its worth it. I have been using it for the last few days and it runs great.
