Hi guys, Im trying to build a new gaming machine on a budget of 1300€, less if possible, these are the parts that I selected so far but Im not really sure if this is optimal and maybe I can cut on some of this stuff to lower the price a bit. My goal is to run new games with consistent frame rates.
You are looking at all overpriced and overhyped products... For a gaming PC - M.2 Pci-e ssd is a waste of money. For the money, you will pay for the Intel SSD you can easily go for a better gpu and larger storage, with speeds, that you will not notice the difference. Corsair RM are a bit too expensive for my taste. Just like Asus. But that is the brand tax they are charging, and obviously you are willing to pay. First off I would go RX480, but even at 1060 land, Zotac, EVGA, Palit, etc... With the new boost the clock doesn't really matter, so just grab a stock speed 1060... Corsair is using rebranded power supplies, and I rather get Seasonic. What CPU are you putting in? Overclock? Cooling?
You seem to be missing a CPU and CPU cooler. I put together a list in PCPartpicker. I choose a 1070 and a 6600k. I also dropped the M.2 SSD for a more conventional SATA one and threw in a 2TB HDD. You would be able to reduce the cost by replacing some of the parts.
Edit: I fucked up a bit, didn't see that the power supply didn't have a listed price, and therefore didn't count towards the cost of the system. I choose one that did have a price and switched the liquid cooler for a air cooler. Unfortunately, that comes to a price that is about €28 over budget, so you would have to replace something else to get the cost down.
Are you going to be overclocking the CPU? This piece of information will affect the parts chosen and the budget significantly.
Anyway... I made some edits to the above list.
cheaper ram (because ram is ram)
cheaper video card (because a 30mhz difference isn't worth 20 euros especially with gpu boost)
Seasonic PSU (because seasonic. and bronze vs gold doesn't amount to much anyway).
And there's room for a good case and cpu cooler. I probably could have dropped the cost of the storage as well but I'm not too knowledgeable on the storage market so I left it as is.
