Building a gaming pc

Hi guys I'm knew here and I'm planning to build a gaming pc that can play games at high to ultra graphics level with high frame rates so far I've come up with this https://www.amazon.co.uk/registry/wishlist/V5U1F182KCU2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_ip_wl_o_HFPGxbNN3TPJN I was just wondering if these parts were all compatible together and if they would perform well. Also what does the eu mean on the name of the motherboard?

Thanks

Thanks for all your help guys, really appreciate it

Why do you need a 58 piece tool kit? You need a screw driver. Plus that stuff is crap and wont last you. If you are going to buy tools that you plan to use for a long time get real tools that are hardened and sharpened. Plus a 1000 zip ties is something you would need to cable mange the Apollo lunar lander. Also spend a bit on a mouse it is well worth it. And EU I bet means Europe or something of the likes

Naw man...

what's your budget?

and what's your monitor set up? or what were you going to buy?

and all you're doing is gaming?

I just upgraded my build similarly.

My completely optional to take advice would be to not get all those zip ties and tools as @AngryNun
has stated. You will likely only need a fraction of the zip ties and merely a single screw driver (and possibly small scissors if you mess up a zip tie/clipping ends of zip ties once built).

I love the choice in Mobo. I have the Gigabyte Z170 Gaming 7 that Wendell reviewed. Update the BIOS!

Since you're seemingly on a looser budget, why not get an i7 6700k?

I too have a Hyper 212 EVO and its a great air cooler.

Get an 80+ Gold Certified PSU... scrimping on the PSU is the last thing you want to do. I have made this mistake before and it has taken out drives/GPUs before. I'm not trying to scare you I just want to prevent others from the pitfalls of trying to save in the Power Supply department.

The EU is a region tag I believe. You don't need to reveal your region to me, but your Amazon link suggests all UK pricing, so just be aware of that.

Yeah I may get the i7 6700k. I think I'm gonna get the Msi z170a Gaming pro carbon motherboard instead and the corsair ax760 power supply. Would the i7 work with that board? If not I'll probably just get the i5. But would this set up provide decent graphics level and frame rates?

Also I was thinking about getting this monitor at some point Acer Predator GN246HLBbid 24-inch Full HD Gaming Monitor, 1 ms 144 Hz https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00IG0Z0HY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_ShaHxb4NKK3ZA not sure if it's any good though

yes it would do all of those things but it depends on what your monitor is. if you have an 8k monitor no its not very good. if you have a 720p tv with 24hz refresh well youll be good for a very very long time.

yeah youll be fine. just make sure you get a display port cable.

Would the i7 work with the Msi z170a gaming pro carbon motherboard? And is the corsair ax760 good enough for this build? What do you think of that monitor?

Ok thanks guys I think I'm gonna go with this https://www.amazon.co.uk/registry/wishlist/V5U1F182KCU2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_ip_wl_o_ZraHxb6VKBD8G
I just need to find out know if the 17 works with this motherboard and if the power supply is good enough. I hope I haven't forgot anything

the i7 works with the board. Power supply is more than enough and the monitor is good for gaming. its fast and has a good refresh which is helpful. not the greatest for editing on since the color isnt all that great. and you need DVI dual link cable not display port. Its weird it doesn't have display port for a 144hz. or HDMI 2.0 works as well.

Is the fact it doesn't have a display port a problem?

no its just not typical. besides at 1080p most cables can mange 144hz expect hdmi 1.2 and lower. So just get either a dual link DVI-I cable or a hdmi 2.0 cable

Ok thanks for your help. I think I'm near enough good to go now that I know all the components should work together, Ill let you know if I have any other questions 😊

What other motherboards would you recommend for this build?

well what do you need?

Well I need a motherboard that will support all of the components and one that has decent audio I guess, one that is highly regarded aswell

well im guessing you just want to game on this so
the motherboard you have is fine but you could go with
GIGABYTE GA-Z170X-UD5
GIGABYTE GA-Z170X-Gaming 6
GIGABYTE G1 Gaming GA-Z170X-Gaming 3
GIGABYTE G1 Gaming GA-Z170X-Gaming 5
ASUS Z170-A
ASUS Z170 PRO GAMING
ASRock Z170 Extreme4
ASRock Z170 Extreme7+
ASRock ASRock Fatal1ty Gaming Z170 Gaming K4
ASRock ASRock Fatal1ty Gaming Z170 Gaming K6

it doesnt really matter what you pick you arent doing sli or crossfire and you dont seem to care about ports and sound quality isnt really a big deal when it comes to these types of boards.

yes its socket LGA 1151

Could someone tell me what the difference is between this card Gigabyte Geforce GTX 980 TI GEF GTX980TI Internal Graphic Card 6144 MB https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00ZCZA3C8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_N-wHxbFS3V8KT and this one Gigabyte Nvidia GTX 980Ti Graphics Card (1064 Mhz,6 GB, 384 Bit, Fan, Pci-E) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B013J7SGV0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_Y.wHxbW47YTK3 also why does one say internal what does that mean?
