Building a bassinet for my youngest

At the encouragement of @Atomic_Charge and @gearheadgirl27 I'm dropping this here for y'all perusal.

Some time back I started building a sub-woofer. The project got stalled and I lost interest so I've had the shell in my garage for a bit.

Fast forward some and my wife is pregnant again and we need a baby bed. The Mrs. had seen this design and figured I could build her one.
Now I could just go down the the hardware store and buy wood and just follow the design, but where's the fun in that?

I tend to kinda get an idea about how to do something and then go off in a tangent and do things my own way.

Hence re-purposing this sub-woofer cabinet. Talking it over with my wife we felt like it'd be nifty for it to look very much like other cabinets I've built so I'll finish this baby bed externally as though it were a functional speaker.
That includes the Duratex finish and the expanded steel grill.
(For those interested the Duratex is a great rubberized coating that can be applied in a number of ways for a very durable finish, much like bedliner. The BIG upside is it cleans up like latex paint and doesn't have harmful off gassing. Strongly recommend it.)
Thankfully I have both on hand already, as well as other bits and bobs.

So far I've removed the unnecessary panels from the cabinet and cross-bracing. (Sorry about no pictures from the outset, didn't think this would be of any interest)

Seeing as I had limited wood to begin with I took the original sketchup plans and set about modifying.

This a rough idea of what I'm working towards.

That's all for now. Any comments welcome. Thanks for lookin'.
