Build suggestions for new PC

New to the forum guys so be gentle. Lol I want to get some build suggestions for a gaming and content creation pc. My budget is at 2500 USD, am I crazy for the budget or is this feasible? Thanks to everyone in advance.

Your not crazy. Gaming computers range in price. Mine is a $400 AMD APU based build, but many people will spend $5000+ on a system. What need to know in order to help you is what games you want to play, what resolution you want to play them at, what settings you want, and what fps you want.

Also does your budget include the OS, Monitors, Keyboard, and Mouse? Or just the Tower?

Do you plan on over clocking?

Welcome to the community!

What type of content creation? Will you be doing any high-res video editing or rendering work? This is likely more important than the gaming aspect as far as gauging performance requirements goes.

Once we get some more information we can provide you with better suggestions.

This is a great question as well.

Well you could start here and save the rest of your cash for the new GPUs to game well at 4k with a single GPU

though a 32" or higher display is going to be better for productivity, although this one has free-sync and is IPS

^That, with maybe 32GB of ram instead of 16. Depends on the workload. And yeah, new gpus coming in a few months time, so if you can hold on for that long, you'll probably get quite a bit more for a similar price in terms of GPU performance.

Definitely appreciate all the info but I already have keyboard, mouse and dual monitors. The content creation would definitely be high res video, commentary, and I definitely would love to overclock.

I already have mouse, keys, os and monitors. Sorry for the late response but I was at work. Lol

I'd like to play at 1440 resolution with upgradable features to give it some longevity, not quite sure on the settings as I am New to PC gaming, as for the fps I want to hit 80+ consistently. That alone would a breath of fresh air. The keyboard, mouse, os and monitor I have covered but I'd like to know what OS you guys run and why.

You sir have outdone yourself. Lol with that particular motherboard, would I be able to upgrade to the latest gpu? I only ask because I'm really excited about building it asap! Lol consoles are the rocks that I have been under.

Well all thanks goes to @Streetguru . I just said to get more ram, which will benefit you with the workload. So without the monitor, you could go even with 64gb of ram. As far as the GPU goes, of course you can upgrade to the latest one, even if in the future, when PCIe 4.0 GPUs cone out, you'll be able to. The difference would then be in only a few fps.
Also with the extra money you could go for a top tier GPU, which would currently be a 980ti on Nvidia and the Fury X on AMD. But again, with new GPUs coming out in a few months, for the same kind of money as you would pay now, you'll probably be able to get a better one.
As far as the OS goes, you have 2 options: Linux or windows. Currently, gaming is still more of a windows thing than linux, though more and more games are made to work on linux as well. But which OS depends on the programs you're going to be using for video editing and all that.

Nah, your budget is only high for those who aren't trying to buy a new setup. And while you're new, you should lurk around. Any official tech website will do, as you'll understand the difference between case builds and setup builds. So I wonder if you're looking to start over or just upgrading?

I hear ya. But right now I'm just trying to get away from consoles and start a YouTube with good solid content.

Wow ten days ago, anyway no I think your best bet is Twitch. YouTube is unreliable and at worst a regular place to get hit with Content ID Strikes. So if you're going to stream, you will need a webcam, mic, a second monitor, and a good processor. You don't need a gaming monitor per se, but you need something that goes 60 fps on the regular whether it's 1080p or 1440p. And if you already have a built, then you should get either a new video card or power supply. If you don't like your case for any functional reason, then get a new one too. And to be on the safe side, avoid any "gaming" style cases. If you don't have a built already then you should start with Intel related cpu and motherboard. And then move on from there, because the only expensive thing you possibly could have left is the gpu.
