Hello all,
I am building a custom computer inside a Macintosh Classic. I’ll share some pictures once I am further along. This will be my personal workstation which I plan to use for selfhosted AI experiments. I am trying to decide on the right parts for the snappiest experience and I’d appreciate any feedback.
The motherboard must be mATX due to size constraints and the maximum length of the GPU hasn’t been decided yet as I am fabricating a mount. However based on pricing I am looking at a RTX 3060 12GB.
My pick so far:
Motherboard: ASRock B760M PG SONIC WiFi
CPU: i7-12700k
RAM: 4x 16GB DDR5 7200Mhz (Model: KD5AGUA80-72B360S) (on MB QVL)
Storage: (single or mirror) Lexar Professional NM800PRO 1TB
GPU: RTX 3060 12GB (NVENC* Support for transcoding)
My intention is to have feature support for as much as possible to support my future projects. I am also unsure if a PCIe 5.0 storage would be worth it over a mirror setup with the above mentioned drives.
I want all the feature support I can get for future experimentations.
I am undecided if I will be running Windows. If I can I plan to avoid it.
Thanks in advance!
