Build PC is it good price?

Hi guys so for the last few weeks I was looking around for a PC so I found a few offers but I am really considering this one -

MB - Asus sabertooth x79
CPU - i7 3930K
RAM - G.Skill SNIPER DDR3 4х4(16GB)
For 385€
Or for 410€ but with 3960X
With that I'm considering RX 480
Seasonic 750 W gold PSU
A case ( recommend me something I like clean looking design like FD R5 or nzxt oh I forgot the model however I believe you understand where I am going with that ... )
SSD (probably samsung)
And WD black 1 or 2 TB
Thanks for your attention.

Eh its alright I guess. 3000 cpus are old

An I7 5820k or 6800k alone is going to cost more than that 3930k + 16gb + mobo is going to cost you, so I say go with the 3930k. I would suggest an NZXT H440 or a Fractal Design Define R5. An RX 480 is a good pairing, and you'd be more than comfortable with a 550 or 650 watt power supply. I would suggest just getting a Caviar blue in 1 or 2 TB. WD Black's are marginally faster at best over a blue, and in some cases Blue's have actually been found to be faster. Its the same drive really, just some firmware tweaks on the black and a better warranty.

For SSD's; Kingston Savage, Samsung 850 Evo/Pro, Intel 730, or any other quality SSD with a good Controller and well proven NAND Flash.

Poor argument...

Those are very good cpu's The 3960k 6-core... Hmmm

Even though the 3930k is a little older than my 4930k, my 4930k has been treating me super well for around 2 years. Some still use the old i7 960's.

When treated well, CPU's can last quite a long time.

16gb of ram was like $60 brand new, an x79 mobo is old af so like $100 max, which is $240ish for a old 6 core.

Like i said, its alright but not any great deal.

Yeah but he can oc that 3930k, get it to 4.0ghz, and get the same performance as a 5820k/6800k. X79 mobo's are not cheap either, Sabertooth's go for $200+ on eBay. Some sabertooth's are over $300.

An 'old' 6 core that has within 15% [ w/o Overclock ] performance to a Brand new cpu... Hmmm. If your argument is age, then sure I agree it's old. If your argument is performance, You are mistaken. I find it to be a good deal, and a Cpu that can perform with any of today within a close margin compared to price.

I don't put a lot of value in used stuff in general. I'm not paying more than 50-60% of value for someone's used junk. A warranty means a lot to me, especially if I'm spending hundreds of dollars. Getting a lemon means I'm out a pile of cash, and I'm not risking that to save 15%

I'm sorry, I thought this was a dumpster divers thread.

Cheers.

Your not saving just 15% here though. An x99 build is going to be marginally faster (prior to an OC) and cost 2x as much. A 6800k with 16gb ram on a X99 Sabertooth is €870.90! https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/QwFZ8K He's paying less than half that for a cpu + mobo + ram combo that's within 15% of the X99 rigs performance pre-OC.

good observation !

Thanks to everyone for the conversation.

Well you are right they are 5 years old components but I'm not from the US so there is no i5 for 50 bucks here :D In our schools they are still with pentium 3 or 4 in my uni they are still with core2duo. And if I go to ebay to buy something cheap I have to pay around 100$ more ( for the same components ) just for shipping. And yes I can buy an i7 6800k or i7 5820K but they both are 500€ just the processor and I don't think they are worth the price tag they have.

Thanks for the recommendations I will look around more for cases ( by the way i found a CM Cosmos S for 55€ yeah its no exactly clean looking but what do you think ? )

I should've also written the prices of the other components -
for GPU i was considering RX470 8GB and RX480 8GB
XFX RX470 - 275€
XFX RX480 (GTR BE) - 315€ (non BE is 310€)
still don't know which to take but the 480 seems better for the price.

For the power supply I also though about 650W but the difference in price is 10€
SS 650W Gold - 120€
SS 750W Gold - 130€
so I think I will spend 10€ more for the 750W

for the HDD I have a friend who recommended me the Black but from the forum here I have also read a post where ( I cant remember his name ) a member said he is working with repairing and refurbishing and he have really low amount of non working WD Blacks compared to other HDD.
but the price for them here is
WD Blue 1TB - 50€
WD Black 1TB - 80€
I am still considering which one to take but i feel like it will be the Black

For the SSD I have a 850 evo and I really like it so thats why i said it will be probably again samsung but I will check your other recomendations.

Yeah and of the motherboard last enough time I can buy a 4930k in a year or two. I agree with your opinion.

Yeah I was thinking about the same thing. Thanks for your opinion.

The Cosmos S doesn't look too bad. Its not especially my style, but it looks like it has a lot of space to work in and a good amount of air flow. Not a bad choice.

The RX 480 is definitely worth the extra. If your planning on overclocking your RX 480, I would get the black edition and hope you get a good binned chip that'll OC well. I just got a BE for my brothers build, its in the mail now and I can report back when that system gets built sooon.

The Black drives are thought to be very reliable indeed. The Blue and Black are the same hardware, the exact same hardware, just with some hardware tweaks on the Black. I still recommend the blue and have been satisified with the three 1TB blues I've bought, so take that as you will.
