Future plans,

Keep my 290 for a while but upgrade my CPU to a future Intel platform, Possibly skylake or something after. Possibly ZEN if they deliver.

When I shift platforms Turn my SSDs into dedicated game drives and move to NVME storage for my main drive.

I wish my computer was powered by the souls of fallen vikings...

well Vishera and Valhalla both start with "V"       :D

Kept heing Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin as I scrolled down!

Nice build man! I built one similar with an fx 4300 and a radeon 7770. Im only going into 10th grade so I understand your budget problems. It literally took me 2 years of saving up to come up with $500 (there were alot of things that popped up with school and church)

yea- I'm only 17 and have a summer job @ my high school. saving can be annoying but. physical labor of lawn mowing and snow shoveling will pay for my GPU. I plan on getting a 9950 or the 860ti or what ever the maxwell Nvidia card will be.

I bought a $300 monitor because it will be future proof for atleast 5years and i NEED the realistate.

mmm red vipers been meaning to get some of those.

You can start the computer without a start button. Just take a screwdriver or really any metal object with an insulated handle and short the two jumpers.

Basically, grab a screwdriver and touch it to the two leads marked power. That's all the power switch does, you click it and it connects the two leads for a brief moment to complete the circuit.

I did not know that. That's a cool tip!

I simply just used another power button since i didn't know.       :I

I like the name. When I die, I will reside in the halls inside your HDD.

Nice, subbed for glory. I love the look of Gigabyte boards, but the UD3 is pretty shitty for overclocking. Feature-wise, it's great for the price, just not the overclocking department. I personally would have waited to shell out for the UD5, but the UD3 is enough for now.

Can't wait to see the progess.

First time personal OC i don't plan to do that much anyways

Then it is perfect; love the solid black; wish the higher-end Gigabyte boards were the same.

For 4.3, the UD3/212 Evo is a good combo. You could always but little copper heatsinks to help with the currently uncooled parts of the VRM.

The FX6350 is not a power hog like the FX8350, it will overclock just fine. I also like the Gigabyte boards because of their clean looks, and the quality for the price is just great, top of the heap for the moment.

I like that build, it's a very realistic system, none of the bling stuff noone needs, purposeful and efficient.

Congrats with the system! I hope you have a lot of fun with it for a long time!

I like bling. I need bling.

To put your souls at rest I'll be adding some alchemy strips down the line.

If you can still see the hardware, then you don't have enough LEDs.

pu led strips on the bottom of ur monitor..... lol

I have a lower class UD3 and a hotter 8150 and am getting 4.8GHz. He should be able to get 4.6 on air cooling, at least.
