Hello all! Here is my build log (first log) of my current project. Water cooling in a case labs s3. I am going for an overall dark theme. Here is a picture of the case for those who are unfamiliar. Please be patient. I am on my phone until I get finished. Any questions or suggestions are welcome!
damn i'm allready jealous! that case look so good!
really, that is a nice case.
Thanks guys! I Have the 30mm ext top for an space, and the flexbay front rad mount options.
Using 4x scythe gt's painted a flat black to match the case. here they are mounted to the front radiator bay.
I painted the heatsinks on my Mobo to match. It is the Asus 287I Deluxe. Painted my ram heatsinks as well, they are Gskill ddr3 2400 modules (8gb) Here it is with the mounted EK Block, also in black.
looks very nice so far, keep up the good work :)
what kinda paint did you paint your heatsinks with? wont that reduce it's cooling ability?
Had to make an add-on to the default EK pump bracket to mount it on the floor. There was not enough space between the rad to mount it. I used some L brackets, screws, and JB weld from Lowes to get it mounted. using the EK all in one d5 x res 140ml version. terminated the power wire to connect to plus directly into my modular psu as well.
I used the same paint I used on the fans. Just plain spraypaint. I masked off where the thermal pads go so it would still make good contact. I tested it afterwards, and it was only about 4-5 degrees higher on the chipset.
damn that gpu looks sooooooooooo goood! can i ask how much you payed for the case?
what are the system specs? like, what video card is that? :)
The system specs are in his profile, the gpu is a EVGA GTX 780 SC :)
I think with all the options my case was about $315.... evga gtx 780sc, i5 4670k, gskill ddr3 2400mhz, Samsung 840 evo 250gb, Seagate 1tb HDD, seasonic g650 PSU.
I was sceptical of buying a case labs case at first.... but it is worth every penny. The build quality is great. Not to mention it is powder coated.
Holy shit, that looks very sexy.
Nice work!
Yes, very nice. Love to see people actually building stuff.
