This PC will mainly be for playing all current gen games at high/ultra settings, some photoshop along with other editing software. I'm not sure if these specs are high enough or if they are compatible despite what pcpartpicker states. Are the parts good quality? Can I downgrade while keeping relatively the same performance?

I will be using the old hdd for a month and a cd drive from old computer until i can save up for newer hardware in about a month. But that shouldn't be a problem right?

I have access to a microcenter and these are the adjusted prices.

AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 8-Core Processor from micro center $119.99

MSI 970A-G46 ATX AM3+ $79.99 (Newegg.com w/ shipping)

Crucial Ballistix sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory from micro center 46.99 (sale price when bought with a processor)

Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 XT 2GB $249.99 (free shipping)

NZXT Tempest 410 Elite (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case $78.98 Newegg.com (w/ shipping)

Power Supply XFX 550W ATX12V / EPS12V $69.99 (free shipping)

total= $645.93

Everything else looks solid.

if you plan to overclock and do crossfire, 650 watt would be good.

Do you think I'll be fine without spending 20 dollars more on the ram?

I plan to over clock but not crossfire so I guess I'll get the 650 watt.

ok. yeah, if you crossfire, and overclock, it won't be enough. If you don't wan't to spend the 16-20 bucks, it's worth it. If you're budget doesn't allow it, rather get a higher psu. Maybe you can get it somewhere cheaper, I payed around 60$ (51€).
