I think thats a good build, but if you have $50 more (total $420) you can get the faster A10. Also, later on you can upgrade with the brand new APU's coming soon.
^good idea, +1
Logan did one $400 build a while ago and nothing tremendous has happened since:

If you have a microcenter near you, they are currently running $50 off amd motherboards if you buy a cpu so you end up getting a free mobo if you go with a cheap gigabyte 760g. The total for this comes to ~$360 and it'll spank any APU's. You can take the extra 40 to throw in a piledriver CPU if you wish or 8gb ram instead of 4gb or even a better looking case if you're into ricer stuff. If you don't have a microcenter near you though go with an APU build like recommended earlier.
I personally own pretty much this build exactly so I wouldn't have to bring my full build to college. One issue though is make sure you update the mobo to the newest beta BIOS or it'll like to crash randomly.

It's a little over budget, but you don't have to go with the graphics card if you can't afford it: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/EIME
If you do keep the graphics card in there, though, that's the best performing APU system you can get as long as you pair the GPU and APU for dual graphics mode.
The A10-5800K destroys the A8, but I did go with the 6670 and this will run most games on medium-low settings at 30-60fps. You will have to save $30 more though.
