Build a $450 pc

i need help building a $450 pc. nothing fancy just need it for office but it has to be good and under $450. any help would be helpfull in which parts i should go.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/d9KvD3     This build assumes that you already have an OS. It also assumes that you will not be doing anything very intensive. Though, it has a Capable GPU/CPU for everyday use, lightweight games, will do well for word processing.  Will be pretty peppy, especially withe that MX100 SSD and 1866 RAM

It also assumes you have no intention of Overclocking.

i was thinking more of apu route and i dont need ssd

Here you go, your lower, performing, equivalently priced, PC...hey, it IS a 2 TB HDD though

I have to concur with ProSonicLive's build. You might be hard pressed to keep this build on a tight budget with a "good" cpu and going the APU route.  There are the new Kabini APUs but they don't have the kind of power you sound like you want.  In addition, the A10-7850k is much more than you would ever need for office. I would replace that with a either of these (in ascending order of power): A6-7400K, A8-7600, or A8-7800.  These are still FM2+ APUs just not the high-end ones that are unfortunately not listed on PC part picker, but can be found on newegg.com.

The build also needs an OS.  I would recommend Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I am of the mindset of Windows 7 but some people seem to recommends Windows 8.1 that would work too; I just like classic desktops maybe you do also.

so ur saying that the fx is better than the a series cpus?

i mean the athlon better than the apu?

This strikes as a case were the new intel dual core might fit.

I am just throwing this build around, it can be powered with a laptop charger http://pcpartpicker.com/p/MxkpQ7

This is a build with the Athlon APU on the AM1 Socket.

They are the same, without the Igpu

This has a monitor, OS, and keyboard and mouse included. The SSD will create the biggest improvement in the snappiness of your operating system.

For office work, I would highly recommend a SSD.  It will make the overall computer feel much snappier.

agree

SSD would be nice. I went the CPU and GPU for best bang for buck combo. The 7850K is nice but this is a better for the same price. You could replace it with the APU if you wish. The only reason I used the high speed was that it was cheap. Stuff I know some one can vouch for. It is compatible, And if you go with a APU instead fast.

This build addresses what was requested in the OP.

AMD A8-7600 APU Quad Core. Plenty of CPU and GPU power for office work and some light gaming or graphics. The AMD APU fits this build perfectly as a dedicated video card or CPU is NOT necessary. If more power was needed down the road there are better APUs available OR a video card could be added etc...

Cooler Master TX3 to help keep the APU nice and cool.

Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-HD3 has all the features you'll ever need for this PC with a good price on the A88X chipset.

4gb GSkill 1866mhz to match the AMD APU

Seagate Hybrid 1TB SSD/HDD hard drive. 8gb SSD built into a 1TB hard drive, its the best of both worlds.

EVGA 430w PSU, reliable and plenty of power and options

Cheap optical drive (if needed)

2 x 92mm quality fans to keep cool air flowing through the case.
