Buget ram for ryzen 1700x on killer sli asrock motherboard

I need to know economic ram 8gb kit that is good on killer sli asrock motherboard ryzen 1700x. You are my only hope

You are looking for a Samsung B die kit, unless you are scraping the bottom of the barrel for the best price. Any DDR4 8GB kit will do then.

What is your budget? This is just 8GB total, right?

This is Hynix M (not samsung B), it might run at the rated 2800MHz, or it might not: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/9NPzK8/gskill-memory-f42800c15s8gvrb

You will probably get more performance if you go with the 1700 (non-X) with a good OC, and RAM (B-Die) with a high clock.

8 is all I really need for Doom, Is 2x 4gb better than 1x 8gb? I was thinking about G. Skill Flare at 2400 and overclocking it but I have burt out a motherboard (ignoring the cpu temp sensor maybe, dont do that) and a cpu I think in the last year (overclocking on refurbished p67 sabertooth), everything used mining with rx 480’s (2) modding the bios and stuff. I just want this to work easily

Also what is just the best without being economical

2x4 will be a little better than 1x8 (It will run in dual channel/more bandwidth), but if you plan on ever adding more RAM 1x8 is a better path. 4 sticks of 4GB might have issues with the IMC (Integrated Memory Controller), as it will stress the IMC more than 2 sticks of 8. This is testing I have not personally done. Maybe someone in the community has tried 4 sticks in dual channel on the Ryzen platform here.

Ryzen and it’s IMC have been finicky from launch. The safest route (unless something has recently changed) is the Samsung B die flash. The Samsung B die kits will assure a higher stable clock in the RAM, better than any other flash variant.

Adding to that, this is not just because of the number of RAM slots used, but even getting 4 compatible sticks in separate kits (spread across maybe years) can be a pain in the rear in the first place. At that point it’s sometimes better selling off the 2x4 and getting a new kit alltogether.

I haven’t read much into it as of late, but iirc the AGESA 1006 also helped a lot with non-B-Die chips.

Awesome and what is the best Samsung B style.

What about this one?

G.SKILL TridentZ Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Intel Z170 Platform / Intel X99 Platform Desktop Memory Model F4-3200C16D-16GTZB

Its on sale

Is it cheaper than this: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/T9Gj4D/gskill-memory-f43200c16d16gvk

I am pretty sure those are B-Die. Maybe someone can verify.

Wait, those are not B-Die… they are D- Die.

@laststarfighter That kit you have picked is Samsung E-Die.

These are B-Die: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/bHBrxr/corsair-memory-cmd16gx4m2b3000c15

This crap is a bit annoying… there are so many kits without an easy way to verify the flash manufacturer. There is probably a cheaper B-Die kit somewhere out there.

I am running G.Skill Ripjaws V 3200 F4-3200C16Q-32GVK at 2933. Thing is I paid 240,- Euro (including tax and shipping) for those 32GB and it is running just fine on the Asus Prime X370 Pro. Is other stuff better? Sure, there is always something better. But honestly, when I look at those prices… I don’t think it is really worth it.
