[Bug] Server time is off

I just got an e-mail from the future! :D

The e-mail was apparently sent around 4 minutes in the future, which lead me to check my own system time first, but that was fine. So I assume that the forum server's time is running a little bit fast?

Here in this screenshot of the raw e-mail headers you can see that the mail was Received before the original e-mail was "written" (the Date):

Maybe @wendell or another admin wants to take a look and correct that. ;-)

I've noticed before, the server does indeed seem to be 4 minutes ahead at times. Not sure what the cause is, maybe a bad NTP server.

Or the NTP server is not reachable and the system time is slowly running out of sync.

That's why there is a round-robbin NTP address:
pool.ntp.org

That doesn't help if there is for example a firewall rule blocking the NTP port

Why would anyone block NTP?

Maybe someone installs/updates a firewall and forgets about the NTP port?

I do, kinda. My domain controllers are the only machines in the network that van pull ntp externally. Group policy sets everything else to pull from the domain controllers.

I did it just to cut down on log files.
