HI Guys,
Im new here and i was wondering if you guy could help me on my first budget gaming rig.
My Budget is $500
I live in Canada so the prices might be kinda different from the US or other places.
Here are the parts i have so far
CPU: AMD Phenom ii x4 965 BE - $100
Motherboard: gigabyte GA- 18LMT-S2P AM3+ Micro atx- $50
GPU: EVGA Geforce gtx 650 ti (1gb) - $150
Case: Fractal Design Core 1000 - $40
PSU: Thermaltake TR-500 500W - $35
HDD: WD Caviar Blue 500gb - $60
RAM: 4GB of Kingston Hyper X blue - $35
DVD: idk something cheap - $20
I also need a wireless keyboard and mouse
Looks all good to me. If I were you, I'd go for a 7770, it performs better than the 650ti in all of Linus' tests and can be cheaper.
i was thinking about that
its only like $120
but, there is a new gpu coming out which is the radeon hd 7790
after it comes out i might consider buying that one aswell
Yes the radeon hd 7790 is looking good
here is a 7770 vs 7790 test http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-xe2XxJJQc
There is allso some speculation that the 7790 is a variant of the new xbox gpu but just speculation i think there
That one is in a slightly higher price bracket, it's almost pointless as it isn't a major upgrade as 2gb is neccisary in some games now so a 7850 is much better.

Slightly tweaked. Slightly over budget.
2gb gpu isent needed for games x2 monitors then yes plus there will be 2gb vershons of the card.
This may drop card prices on the 7770 when it comes out
Actually, if you listen to Logan, battlefield requires around 1.5gb sometimes to be played at it's highest settings, hitman absolution does and I think max payne three does too. It also mean that the card will be more future proofed!
that build is pretty awesome, im building my rig in july so the prices might drop
the thing is i wont really be doing a lot of gaming, probablt just playing some bf3 or other shooters when i have the time, but i would like a good GPU cuz i do some video editing :P
Shure 1.5gbs at max setings but your never going to get that with a low end to mid card like the 7770 7790 7850 so its not needed like i just sead.
future proofed will be to buy a more expencive card like a 7970
