Im useing the Amd Phenom X4 965 Cpu in my build and was wondering what the best motherboard would be on a budget. I have seen Logan's Video for using the ASRock 960GM/U3S3 FX Micro ATX, is that the best for that price range or should i look to something else? Or would there me an intel chip that would be better for about $100? I was thinking about getting an i5 dowwn the road, which is why im not wanting to spend too much on an AMD motherboard.
msi 970a g46
Thanks for the fast reply ill go with that one.
I wouldn't recommend the 970a g46 as it is known ti have a Vram overheating issue if you try to do even small overclocks.
I would go with an Asus M5a75 as it's a high quality board and it's a bit more expensive but you will be able to overclock and it has more user- friendly bios.
Also it's aSus so you know it's going to be quality!
Asus M5A97
I like the ASRock 970 Extreme3. Decent board at a good price. It's $75 dollars currently, but it's usually around $90. Still, that's a lot of money to spend on a mobo if you're just going to replace it later. If I was going to do that, I would just buy a cheap $45 micro atx board. Or I would buy a decent $100 Z77 board and use a Sandy Bridge Pentium until I can afford the i5.
I have the MSI 970A-G46 with the 965 and it works perfectly. Its awesome :D
