So I'm looking to buy a gpu to play games at 1080p at high settings. I do have an AMD preference but if it comes down to it i would go with nvidia. I pretty much want to get the best card for $200 usd. if there is a really good deal for something better within a reasonable price range.
thank you for any help
770 GTX or 280x are within $200

about 770 or 280x
(nvidia) When win10 with dx12 comes out you won't get support or much of performance gain from it.
(amd) you will have full dx12 support and much of performance gain.

I second the 280x. Some ganes play at 4k around 30fps if you change the settings (I.e. Saints Row 4).
for 200 dollars you're better off getting AMD R9 280.

30% off promo too. Look I got you a better card and saved you 40 bucks.
You can find the gpu tweaker of your choice and overclock the card too.
If you are only running windows go AMD better value per dollar.
If you want to play some games in linux go Nvidia.
AMD drivers currently are dreadful for OpenGL.
Is it just me or is that somewhat ironic?
