I'd change the HDD and the PSU. Instead of buying a Hitachi Deathstar, grab a Seagate one. For the PSU; instead of 500W Raidmax, buy a 550W XFX or Seasonic power supply.
Edit: not to say the Raidmax is bad, it's got high efficiency and is 80+ bronze certified. It's got 2 +12v rails, where as the most XFX branded ones have only one, to give you good, constant, continuous, wonderful power. Like Logan would say.
Just going to throw this out there..
AMD Phenom II X4 965 - $90
Any motherboard, am3+ preferably asus or gigabyte - $70
2x2 1866 Corsair RAM - $30
Rosewill 450W PSU - $40
WD 500GB 7200Rpm - $50
Radeon HD 7870 2gb - $220
Total = $500, with shipping + tax it should be almost $600.
Ancient Phenom II X4 965.. boo-hoo. Yes, it'll smoke some modern day i3's but you'll need a cooler the size of yo momma to get it overclocked. (preferably water)
so is the AMD Phenom II X4 965 a better choice for gaming then the AMD FX-6200 3.8 GHz?
not getting 8gb of ram is not smart
FX 6300 > Phenom II x4 965 for gaming, but it would be better to get a cheaper processor and a better graphic card (unless you can afford the better processor AND the same graphic card) when it comes to gaming. And masterdome was right about the cooler unfortunatly lol. If you dont OC, it should be good enough with stock cooler, as long as you have decent airflow.
I'd go for the FX 6200. It performs a little better, it's better value compared to the Phenom and it's alot newer.
Not really, a Hyper 212 EVO will have no problem pushing a Phenom II 965 to something like 3.8Ghz
ok..ill keep same build except video card..which of these 2 will be the best for its money...the Sapphire 11199-00-20G or MSI N560GTX-TI Twin Frozr II/OC ?
