Budget Gaming PC

So I have been a console/semi-PC gamer for a while, but can't run many games well on my little laptop. I have been longing to build a pc and have been researching for a while, however I am not sure if what I have is a good build. I took most of my components for this build from the $375 Budget Build on this site, but changed a few because I could not find some of the same prices as listed and thought some other components might be better. I want to know if there is anything I could replace to make my build cheaper with the same power or get more bang for my buck. Here is how it goes:

For the motherboard I have an ASRock H61M-DGS LGA 1155 Intel H61 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157315

For the power supply I have the LOGISYS Computer PS575XBK 575W ATX12V SLI Ready Power Supply http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspxItem=N82E16817170017&Tpk=575W%20ATX12V%20Power%20Supply

For the memory I have Patriot Gamer 2 Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model PGD38G1600ELK http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220558&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-_-pla-_-NA-_-NA

For the hard drive I have a Western Digital WD Blue WD5000AAKX 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136769

For the graphics card I have chosen the MSI R6770-MD1GD5 Radeon HD 6770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 =N82E16814127599HDCP Ready Video Card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127599

For the processor I chose Intel Pentium G850 Sandy Bridge 2.9GHz LGA 1155 65W Dual-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 2000 BX80623G850 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116397

And finally for the case I picked the APEVIA X-JUPITER-JR S-Type X-JPJST-BK Black SECC Steel Chassis ATX Mid Tower Computer Case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811144190

This will be my first build so feel free to change anything to make it cheaper or more efficient, I'm a noob.

Here, this build won't catch fire and die in a few months. All quality parts.

You'll have to use the stock cooler for this build, but you should still be able to OC the IGP to 950-1000MHz and get great gaming performance.

That^.Just get an AMD A10 with the integrated graphics. I had an A8 with the integrated graphics and it played Day-Z at medium settings and a couple on high. All Valve games maxed even the newer ones like CS:GO. You can also throw in another gpu and crossfire it later on. I'd email AMD if you plan on doing so and see what the max card you can run crossfired with it is though. I know in the A8 it was like a 6850 give or take though not 100% on that.  Plus you can even get the higher end A10 and still stay under budget. So you're getting better parts for cheaper which is sweet and it's upgradable for cheaper, and the pentium is nothing compared to the A10.

Now your turn to help me, how'd you make a thread? I want help with a 1.1k build I'll be getting soon here and can't figure it out, clicking NEW THREAD doesn't do anything besides take me to a failed search thing.

Go to the top right part of the page, click POST, then click FORUM TOPIC on the menu that appears.

Sometime later could I add an HD 6670 and Crossfire?

This is top quality RAM with free shipping and less expensive and better reviews than the Patriot RAM you have listed.

I like WD HDD myself. This HDD has 64MB of cache for the same price and once again, free shipping.

Looks like a great choice for your graphics card. I sure could not find better for the price.

Your choice of processor is, well a dual core. There is part of the processor dedicated to graphics which in my opinion is a waste because you are intending to use a graphics card.

If there is any chance you can save up a little more money I would honestly go for an i5 2500K.

Wow, and as far as you case goes I don’t think you can do any better than that. Nice little case to put all those goodies in. I hope my opinion is of some help for you. Don’t forget to get lots of opinions from the good folks here on this site. They are all willing to be helpful and may be able to offer even better ideas than mine. Good luck and have fun with your build.

Err... you could, but the bonus performance isn't that great... If you wanted to drop a few extra $ on the build now I'd suggest upgrading to a 500+W PSU.

Something like this would work. The advantage of this is that in the future, you could drop $150-$200 on a sick graphics card and bring you right near the top of gaming performance. Until then the HD 7660D on the A10 will give you 30+ FPS on most modern games on High with a few exceptions.

Will Windows 7 be cheaper anytime soon now that Windows 8 is out?

Wait... Buy... Windows? O_o

I've been told by a couple others here that that the WD Green series should be avoided, and then they recommend the Blue series  :/

I can back this up, I've known 3 green drives, and they are now 3 dead drives. Terrible failure rates.

Could you inform me to a safe free way to obtain it? O_o

Heh, I'll leave that for someone else to answer.

I have heard of it, but there are so many ways out there I don't know which one to trust. I really don't want to pay for it

if you are a student you can get a reduced price, we don't give advice on how to pirate on here, also if you're a student you can go on microsoft dreamspark and get a server version OSes free and legal straight from microsoft, the server versions from my experience are identical to normal but with Extra features, there shouldn't be any features left out
