Budget Gaming Build

Hi,

I want to build a budget PC but I'm not 100% sure on what parts to use. Here is my list of things that I need.

  • Budget. How much are you willing to spend? -$800
  • Where do you live (what country),  and what currency do you use? -Australia,AUD
  • Is there a retailer you prefer? -No
  • Do you already have peripherals? (this can add to costs) -Yes
  • What will you be using your future computer for? Gaming? Rendering? Mix of both? Or is this a home media PC? -Gaming
  • Do you overclock or want to get into overclocking? -No
  • Do you plan on going for custom watercooling now, or in the future? -No
  • OS. Do you need a new one? -No

If you Game-

  • What kind of settings do you like or what FPS do you want to play at? -I want to be able to destroy my PS3 in graphics (not that that will be hard to do)
  • What resolution will you be playing at? //or would like to play at. -1080p
  • What kind of games do you like to play? -Skyrim and racing games
  • What specific game will you be playing (if you only really play one) -Mainly Skyrim

Any input would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

If you want to go with anything smaller than ATX, I would suggest you switch over to Intel.  AMD AM3+ has terrible options for low-end ATX and anything smaller.

And dang, AU prices are terrible.

I would prefer a better quality power supply, such as the 80+ Gold XFX 550w, but I couldn't fit it into the budget.

The motherboard I've chosen will allow you to upgrade to an 8 core AMD CPU in the future, for better performance.

The build you have will be better up front by a couple FPS, but the build I've outlined here will allow you to overclock and upgrade your CPU.

Thanks for that.

And I know, its ridiculous how expensive parts over here are. I will cringe when RAM prices start going through the roof from that massive fire in the factory.
