I am putting together my first AMD build. My last PC was an Intel/Nvidia. I do not know a whole lot about AMD. Which parts are best. So and so forth. I picked out some parts on PC PartPicker. Would like some suggestions on possible other parts or if the build looks like a good one. http://pcpartpicker.com/user/reddevil/saved/zL26Mp
Any recommendation I might make would increase the budget, that said... I much prefer the FX990 chipset for FX range of CPU's. Also I have personally had a bad experience with ASRock and if it was my money I would not choose to use them again. I do like Noctua coolers, I have owned a couple of D14's in the past. In my opinion they are the best air coolers however they tend to be the most expensive. You may be able to get away with spending a little less on the cooler if that money can be spent elsewhere in your build. You could drop the DVD burner as optical drives are rapidly going the way of floppy drives these days. It's got to be 4 or 5 years since I built a rig with an optical drive. That said I do own an external USB drive that I use once in a blue moon, maybe once or twice a year. So that's just something to think about. The graphics card is strong for the budget just check the reviews to ensure it's reasonably quiet, some AMD's can sound like leaf blowers, mine do.
That looks pretty good to me, to be honest. I've used the fx6300 and it's a good little processor. I'd personally go with an Asus board, for the same reason Pendragon mentioned regarding bad experiences with ASRock. Gigabyte are hit and miss, but Asus tend to be solid. The Sapphire 270xs are usually very good value for money.
The only thing I'd add would be a decent HDD for mass storage. 240GBs on the SSD will not last you long.
Looks okay to me, i only wanne notice that that Asrock board is a piece of junk.
if you dont care about sli / CF setups, i would say grab something like the Msi 970 Gaming board.
