Budget Android Phones?

Hullo, Tek Syndicate forum users

I'm looking to replace my iPhone 4S. Even though I had an awful experience with my HTC One X (horrible OS skin, carrier bloat 800MB RAM USAGE IDLE!!!!!11!!11, etc.) I still think Android is where I belong. I hate having to use iTunes. So I want to know your recommendations as to the cheaper side of Android phones, especially ones I may not have heard about. I have a few requirements -

  • At least 4G
  • $300 or less
  • My carrier is AT&T (so AT&T or unlocked)
  • Not too worried about storage, at least 8GB. Removable is nice.
  • Close to stock Android (4.4 preferred)

I know this community isn't usually accepting to these questions but the Android hardware market is awash with good, bad, and awful phones. And there are some phones not advertised in NA that are great but we just don't hear about them.

The Nexus 5 would suit you well. However if you can wait a tad longer when the Nexus 6 launches the specs should be a noteworthy upgrade. Here's the Nexus 5's specs:

Snapdragon 800 (quad core)

1080p display (1920x1080)

2gb RAM

16 to 32gb ROM

8MP camera

Any idea on how much the 6 will be? I may just wait for the 6 to come out and get the 5 at a discount.

Considering this. I know there is a new version but the new one doesn't support 4G or LTE
