I am at a loss right now. I have a test machine that I do a lot of wacky stuff on for testing purposes. Well, I decided today to scrap the image an reinstall windows. Let me start with the specs so that you know what I am working with.
GA-970A-UD3
FX-6100
Corsair XMS3 (4x2gb)
H60
OCZ Vertex 3 60gb (x3 RAID 0)
XFX HD6770
Corsair 650W Professional Series
Now, on to the issue at hand. I am installing a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate. The installation runs through without a hitch. RAID driver installs without a problem, it sees the drives as a whole creates the partition. Once the install is complete the PC reboots as normal to boot in to Windows. However when it gets to the loading screen it freezes and BSOD. Help me please! lol
Have you tried rebooting into safe mode? ould be some dodgy drivers somewhere. If safe mode does work, go into c:\windows\system32\drivers and rename (to disable them but not lose them) then reboot, rename rebppt, etc. until you get into windows. Then see if you can download a new, updated one.
Why would I need to run them in 5, they have always been run in 0.
Also, not sure that is relates to the issue, but when browsing for the RAID driver during installation. I am showing Removeable Disk C: D: E: F: and G: then H: which is my thumb drive with the RAID driver and then I see Boot (X:)
Update: I just tried another copy that I had, from another medium. Was using Ultimate on CD, just installed Home from USB and it installed fine. Strange thing is I just used that Ultimate CD on my laptop, so not sure whats wrong there.
I see that you are using 4 bars of RAM maybe one got damaged, you could try to take them out one by one and switch them around to see which one got damaged (if one of them got damaged).
If this doesn't help, could you give us an indication of what kind of BSOD you are getting. Look for a name that looks something like XXXX_XXXXXX_XXXX for example MEMORY_MANAGEMENT.
