Brother MFC-295CN Printer Question

So I have one of these older multi-function printers, it includes a scanner and a fax machine as well.

Recently the Control Center 3 software suite stopped working and I think this is due to Adobe Flash hitting EOL.

Control Center 4 doesn’t support this model device, how freaking convenient is that :frowning:

Any ideas on getting this working again ?

It is such a waste to ecycle a functioning piece of hardware due to software not being updated.

The built in Windows 10 scanning app worked the last time I tried with a Brother printer, but the dpi is locked to 600 iirc.

What else do you need to do with it? The printer driver should still be working fine without Control Centre.

Maybe try building a print server for that with a raspberry pi? It should still work. Linux nerds loves their old tech and strive for them to work in a more modern environment.

Thanks for the replies, however Windows 10 ONLY sees the device as a Printer, no scanning nor fax support it seems :frowning:

The workaround was to install a Windows 7 VM and install CC3 on this, it worked fine, but really why should I do this just to get the scanner working.

I did some more digging and found a work-around on the Brother Support site:
