Broken display ribbon cable

The display cable inside my Asus Transformer Prime (TF201) has stopped working. I opened the tablet to see what was wrong and it looked like the flat cable (I don't know the exact name for it) was bent in half accidentally because of the way its shaped. The insulating material was able to bend that far but the actually wires broke clean in half along one line.

What is the best way to fix the metal conductive parts of a flex cable?

Thanks, and I'm pretty sure that i'm going to have to solder them back together, but I'm just wondering if there is a good way to do it.

I'm pretty sure that I can just solder the connections back together and it should work fine.
