I recently purchased two of the 28" Crossover 289k displays. I'm running them via DisplayPort 1.2 and am getting 4K @ 60hz. The 289K(s) replace my Xstar DP2710(s).
My question is about brightness.
While both monitors advertise a brightness of 300 cd/m^2, the Xstar seems significantly brighter. I have tried adjusting the brightness/contrast using the on screen display, online tools, and a Spyder4Elite that I have at work, and have had poor results. The Spyder reads the brightness at 120nits (which, to my knowledge, is the same as 120cd/m^2). That's less than half of the advertised.
Anyone else have similar findings? Tips for getting a good calibration/increasing brightness?
I knew the colors might be a little more washed out, but the brightness is kind of a bummer. As a graphic designer, having my whites look gray is less than ideal.
Thanks in advance for any insight!
