Brand New PSU Good or Bad?

I Received my New Corsair AX1500i about 3 weeks ago, and didn't test it because I'm still waiting on other parts for my Build.

So I fig I better test it B4 30 days are up.   So I have the Thermaltake Dr Power II PSU Testr.

I plug in all the cables and rite off the bat , it Failed on the PG (Power Good) test.  Now it does state that if it's under 100ms or Over 600ms it will fail.  So I disconn everything but the 24  pin.

when I turned on the PSU n hit the side test button, it failed. I hitit a 2nd time and it passes.

So f'd up?????  So I panic and call Corsair and I should have called my Dentist and would have gotten a better response.

What's weird is that even though it's saying it's failing. the Green Self test button on the PSU is green. nNow I Panic cause I don't want a $500 paperweight and run to microcenter and buy a Coolmax PSU tester.  It Passed with that!Anyone  EVER have a problem like this???  I Need some advice If I should Return it or keep it. Keep in mind that if they test it when it gets back to Newegg, and passes, I'll get charged the Restocking Fee.

ANY Ideas. What would YOU DO???   Please Help..Lost in space!!!  Unfortunately, I have no other system to test it on, especially this POS dell I'm on now

Thanks

JJ

Isnt there a warranty on that PSU, so no worries correct.

There should be some really good warranty on the ax1500i.  Can you not return it, wait until your parts come, and then buy it again?

Have you tried running it on a spare rig?

Does it work using the paperclip method?

Any doubts then RMA it while you can.

Yeah, That's the way I'm gonna look at it. At 1st I panic n thought I was gonna b stuck with a $500 paperweight. lol

But I thought exactly what you did. If it don't work under load, there's a 7 year warranty so no biggie.  It's that 30 day deal I was worrying about......I don't get it though, it fails on one tester and passes on the other????

Thanks Dude!

Here's the del with the return within 30 days.  If I return it and it Passes Their test, I have to pay a Restocking fee.  I just told the last reply I got that it passed with 1 teter and failed wit the other. So I then realized I have a 7 year warranty on it. Once I realized that, I calmed down....Man I was panicing...for no reason lol

Thankls for Repling

I Just finished a Build for a good friend that lives close by, but he is camping for a week an what I'm on now is a Dell POS and I don't even think I could plug it into this thing,,,,,NO BS

Yeah, I tried the Paperclip trick but that's really not reliable.  I 1st tested it on a Dr Power 2. I had all the cables conn & as soon as I hit the test button, it failed. When I just had the 24 pin in, it passed......so weird.  So I ran to Micro center and grabbed a Coolmax PSU tester and it passed.  I've been building for a while and this NEVER happened to me B4????

Weird shtuff man???I'll rely on the 7 year warranty if need be. But I think it's fine. It Powers up, the Green Self Test button works.......so I paniced for nada. I think it's fine!!!! It's just weird how that happened. The Dr Power 2 does state that if it goes unde 100ms or over 600ms it will fail. And when I Only conn the 24 pin it was over 600ms.so I think it's gonna be good.

Ill post how it works in about 2-3 weeks

TY for replying!!!
