title says it i bought 8gb ddr3 1600mhz patriot viper xtreme pc3-12800. Didn't mention anything on tiger direct but when i received merchandise it says designed for intel will it be alright with my amd rig
It's all the same thing.
Most AMD mobos even read Intel XMP profiles for performance finetuning.
thanks zoltan i was getting worried my first pc build i am kinda pissed received everything from 3 of 4 sources. I live in Montreal Canada. I bought mobo from memory express never again. Been 5 days they say still verifying my credit info wtf. They are backed up due to black friday I laughed that was almost 3 weeks ago. I order on the 8th of december and they still haven't shipped anything on top of which they claim to have the mobo in stoc
Yeah, as Zoltan said. It's all the same RAM.
Usually, it just means it works best with Intel. It should work, though.
Well usually it just means that the ram has built-in profiles for maximum performance. But a lot of AMD boards can read that data, and use it anyway, as Zoltan said.
the ram i got is px34g1600c11 pe000279 will it be ok with
ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0 mobo
Usually when I order to montreal I use either NCIX or newegg. NCIX will pricematch places like memory express and is really quick with shipping (they ship from vancouver). Word of warning: don't use purolator/canadapost, they will delay you to hell and back.
