What could be the cause for a computer trying to boot up and then turning off 3 seconds after that and repeating that "ad infinitum." Mine is doing that and I don't have a freakin' clue of what it could be. Thanks in advance.
bad psu, mobo, list the parts that are in your computer, the more details the more we can help
I had the same problem once. Turned out the 8 pin CPU power cable wasn't connecting properly. A wobble solved it
if the 8 pin is connected properly try using the 4 pin instead, not sure why but it worked for me once..
I'll check the 4 pins on the power supply. The motherboard has an 8 pin slot but since it works fine with 4 I've used it that way. Since I don't have a pc (I'm using my brother's) it's going to take me some time to keep replying. I'll give it a try and let you guys know how it goes.
So far I tried to boot up another motherboard and the only two things that were the same were the memory and the power supply. I'm going to single out the PSU and see if that's the problem.
That happened to me a couple of weeks ago. And the culprit was bad RAM. Take a look on that as well.
