*NOTE: I originally posted this on the Xilinx forums but they seem to have lacking support for linux and I have gotten no help. I know this is a little specific for this forum but I figured I’d get a more linux minded crowd to see if y’all can see anything that I and the Xilinx community don’t see. If certain things need clarification let me know.
Thanks guys!
I am trying to use a Zybo Z7 ZYNQ-7010 Development Board with Vivado and XSDK 2017.4 on my Desktop running Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS.
I am aware this is an unsupported operating system.
Neither Vivado nor XSDK recognize that there is a board on the Local server.
Vivado gives “No Hardware Target is Open” after selecting Open target -> Auto Connect.
XSDK gives “could not find FPGA device on the board for connection ‘local’” after trying Program FPGA.
Every USB port on the computer has been tried.
The board is configured to be programmed through the MicroUSB port.
The board and USB cable are working; The board is recognized on another system running Windows 10 and Vivado 2019.x.
Board support files have been added to accommodate this board as it is not included in 2017.4.
When the attached USB devices are listed in the Linux terminal the board is identified as
“Bus 005 Device 002: ID 0403:6010 Future Technology Devices International, Ltd FT2232C/D/H Dual UART/FIFO IC”
I have tried installing the FTDI-D2XX drivers to no avail.
Additionally a BAYSIS 3 Artix-7 Development board has been hooked up and same issue. BAYSIS 3 support files have also been added.
If anyone has any insight into this it would be much appreciated. Ive been bashing my head against a wall for several days now.
Thanks!
