Agricola is fun but I'm still pretty clueless - takes a lot of learning. I fucking love Settlers, and Cities and Knights takes it from a really good game to a really good and strategic awesome game.
Power grid is fun too, I like Arkham Horror, D+D, Munchkin, MTG, loads more.
Years ago my friends and I would get together on a Friday night with many wobbly pops and such to play a game of Risk. This is a game of conquer the world. I remember peace pacts being made and later the pact being broken causing many an uproar. You need at least 4 people to make it interesting and it can last for hours. You need to understand that this was long enough ago that there was no such thing as a personal computer at that time. Hell, the VCR was a new technology back then. We sure had a lot of fun with that game but again, you need the right people to play.
