Bluesreens, Freezing and burnt out harddrive

Hi Guys, I've been having problem after problem with my gaming pc, so let me take you back. The first problem I experienced was that it was taking ages almost 20 minutes for the light on the motherboard to light up green so I could turn it on. I just put it down to a dead or dying psu, I tested the psu by shorting it out to see if it would turn on, it didn't so I got a new one. (BTW both are xfx which I believe are basically seasonic) The next problem I got was that the pc would not boot up if I plugged in all the 8 pins on the cpu power socket only if i use 4 pins. So it turned on but then smoke from my hard-drive and burning plastic smell. I turn it off immediately, kinda scared now but i turn it on again, pc cant recognize it, dead hard drive, I got  a Western Digital green now, (good thing I backed up the harddrive). Windows is on my ssd so I can still boot into windows at least, but wait there is more of course. Now when I boot into windows at random intervals I get blue screen or the PC completely freezes and I can't do anything. Tried re-seating the ram. Still freezes. It could occur within 2 minutes or 2 hours completely random.  Does anyone have any idea what is going on with this thing? I really need it for University and I miss my PC games. Thank you  for reading.

Something else strange has just happened. I was on the internet, just seeing how long before it would crash but when it did crash a high pitched whine started coming from the PC itself. What could this be?

There is about 3 Things that can Cause a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death), a Bad CPU Overclock, a Bad GPU Overclock (Well AMD's Cards do this Nvidia's Don't so often) and Power Delivery to your Motherboard isn't balanced (You must make sure your Power Supply is at most 80+ Bronze or Above and make sure you are using the right cables. for example do not use the 6+2Pin cable that is used to Power your GPU on the Connecter to Power Your CPU)

There's a Few Ways to tell if Your Hard Drive is in its Dead Throes

  1. Any type of Software on your PC will say (Not Responding) while you are using it, then 5 minutes later go back to normal. and THEN constantly repeats this cycle
  2. Your Hard Drive % Usage on Task Manager is Consistently HIGH. around 70%-100% Nothing Should ever make your hard drive usage that high. not even gaming or doing a little computing or even University work will make it this high. [So seeing this often is also a Problem]
  3. Overall if your PC is Just Plain fucking slow, and i mean as this for example it's taking your like 3 minutes to load up an internet browser to surf the web

If you are having these issues REPLACE YOUR HARD DRIVE NAO!!  so you don't lose your personal files and such.

and for the BSOD it may be a case of your CPU or GPU not being stable or the power-delivery is not good (You CANNOT skimp out and buy Cheap PSU's :(    )

Wow, looks like that system is somehow coursed.

Concerning the random freezes, I once had a system brought to me that did exactly that, too. As it it turned out, the RAM that was installed had a minimum voltage of 1,65V, which was more than the Board could handle. Swapped the RAM, worked perfectly fine from then on. You might want to check if you have the right RAM for your system. That could as well be the reason for the coilwhine.

If it's not that, your previous problem with the PSU might have caused some damage on the Motherboard, or there was something wrong with it in the first place. You might want to consider swapping out the motherboard anyways.

I just asume that you don't have some crazy overclock going on that causes all these problems.
