Hello i just got my new GPU and there are blue pixels all over the monitor. my GPU is a msi gaming gtx 1070.i have tried reseating my gpu, reinstalling the drivers and plugging in the monitor.
Do you get them, when booting, in initial bios display, or in bios ?? or tried different mobo slot ?
yes. Im not sure if its the cable going bad because my old gpu did it too some times.
so prob was there before new gpu ? could also be mobo ! what type of connector are u using ?
it did it twice then stopped and then when i installed my new one it started. HDMI
what cable you using?
Did it happen with previous gpu?
Can you isolate the issue to a single piece of hardware?
Does the monitor do the same blue dots every time?
Does the monitor show the same blue dots when attached to differnt interfaces (HDMI vs DVI vs DisplayPort vs VGA)?
Does the monitor show the same blue dots when attached to a different computer/video card?
Typically blue dots are 'dead' or 'stuck' pixels. Sometimes they happen spontaneously, but usually they are defects in manufacturing.
(I presume this is a flat panel - LCD, LED, etc. and not a CRT.)
like one or twice then it stopped. the HDMI cable is kind of crappy so it might be that.
most probably and the easiest to Fix !!! :-)
If you have a spare HDMI cable try that or a DVI cable if that is an option on your 1070.
The Dots are flickering. ill try another computer and see if it does it to.
So i just tried my raspberry pi b2 on the monitor with the same cable and it worked fine so its down two the drivers or the card its self
its not the card if it happened with your other card as well.
Could it be windows because my install has been acting strange? I have a feeing it has to do with windows because i started up doom and you can not see them. Or could it have been the old drivers where not properly removed because i went from amd to nvidia.
well if you didnt do a clean reinstall of windows after changing drivers than yeah it will fuck with your stuff. But bc this happened before you got the new card I dont think its drivers. It could be but it might just be a bad connection between the MB and the GPU
ok ill try reseting the gpu another time and then if that does not work ill reinstall windows.
you sure th back of card is plugged in right like all the way. the cable leading from the card to the monitor could be lose.
I did and they are still showing up.
ok well drivers or motherboard is my guess. you either have a bad connection somewhere along the line or the drivers are out of whack. Im still leaning on a bad connection since it happened before the new card came right.
I will move the gpu down to the next slot and see if that works. yea it was a spotty thing that usally only occur in the start up of the computer. could it be the power. my psu has a 8 pin and a 6 pin on the same cable could that be the culprit.
