Hello
Just curious, I have an asus laptop that can play blu ray discs. Anyone know any good blu ray playing softwares that is free?
there are some workarounds to get VLC to play some bluRays but due to some patents on the native copy protection on blurays there are no free players right now, your laptop should have come with a bloatware player, that is probably your best option right now.
Yeah right now I'm using AsusDVD. Are there any good ones that are priced reasonably?
For a reasonable price? Not really.
Your best option would be to install MakeMKV in order to rip Blu-Rays and then use software such as handbrake to compress it if the large file size is too big for you.
I use anydvd with mpc, but I imagine it would work with vlc too.
i was thinking about the same thing except in linux. i have a star trek orignial series waiting to be watched. windows 10 doesnt accept the powerdvd installation that came with my drive. idk cause reasons?
anyhoo. i gave up on win10 and tried linux instead. kodi kinda works. but only if the bluray was from before 2012 and you have the proper libs installed. so i'm assuming they work great on windows?
