Blender As A Video Editor

Anyone use it? Its rather inconvenient to jump between OS's and would be nice if linux could be sort of a project area. Would save me time. That and KDL is really buggy ATM

I use it personally. @Snufsetufsen has already linked my post on it and I'm also creating a tutorial series on the tek wiki but that will take a while cause of having other stuff to do, it's just a little side project atm.

I've heard good things from people who use it. But I haven't personally used it in a while.

If Blender just isnt your thing maybe take a look at Lightworks

The free version DOES have limitations, but you should get a really good idea if its for you or not, and then drop some cash on it from there.

I like lightworks but I don't have the money for codecs and I would want to buy them permanently for future use. I want to do video editing for a living.

Maybe KDEnlive, Flowblade or Shotcut?

Blender is going to give you the best overall functionality though.

Have you tried KDen Live?

I'm using KDL right now, see OP

I've heard good things about it, What issues are you having?

Do you already have the K-lite codec pack?

My problem is a matter of convenience. Its a pain for me to have to reboot 3 times a day because everything is so scattered. If I could stay on linux ONLY I would. If I had never gotten the internet involved this wouldn't be an issue and I'd still be playing quake on a pentium M laptop :P

Back to point I'm thinking of just having separated boxes so one box is all my linux projects and the other is the machine I have now and I make videos, record, stream, all on one windows system. Blender can be used in windows and I am not going to gut a linux environment with a virtual machine.
