New to the forum and Linux not to Teksyndicate
Trying to install Linux Mint 17.1 dual boot w/ win8.1 again...
System system setup: MSI GT70 barebone i7 and R290m
I get the following screen when booting to the live cd

Found post on what to do for a black screen after install not much on before... Would love to give Linux a try
