All I can say is in the longterm of thing services like youtube are equally liable for piracy, even though laws dont think it to be true. Any free streaming service is essentially a pirating service. Sure you dont have a physical digital copy, but you still arent paying for it. Anyways I support forms of priacy, just to hurt the people who dont deserve to be where they are. As in the record label owners. The musicians and actors make virtually nothing. I understand hollywood being this way, as the actors dont produce their own work (usually). Muscians on the other hand produce 99% if not 100 of their own work. Their money pays for it, it isnt their money that pays for disks and labels to be made though. Now think of it this way, things like bandcamp and soundcloud are both services that pretty much give 100% of proceeds to the musician. Alot even give their music away for free for two reasons, 1. it it increases their fan base, 2. it guarantees their work will live on. They still can make plenty of fucking money.
Humble Bundle anyone? I mean companies are making far more money from the bundles than individual sales, for the fact they sell so many bundles of any bundle. My point is this, Humble Bundle is the future, steam too (as in digital sales). If everything was digital prices wouldnt have to start out at 59.99 for a new game. Id say 39 - 49. Either way donations are basically what I am saying is to be an artisans best form of income. Im just saying everyweek millions are spent on humble bundle, its all name your price (essentially it is a straight donation service).
