Hello Teksyndicate community, I'd like to know how good these Bitfenix cables extensions are (the single sleeved ones) since my PSU's (XFX 1050 80+ GOLD) cables are way too short, also, my graphics card has an 8 and a 6 pin plug and so far those cables come with an 8 pin pci e connector, would it be wrong to plug the 8 pin in the 6 pin and have the other 2 pins hanging around?
Thank you.
I've heard some good reviews on their cable extensions. BTW, they also sell a 6pin pcie extension cable...
I was actually supposed to get me some of their cables but are not available where I live, so I bought NZXT cable extensions and real happy with them; sadly only comes in 3 colors (black, red, and white) and that's where the Bitfenix has the upper end with different colors for your modding needs.
Well I need a red one so it's alright, I'm just curious since their pro packs come with the 24 pin the 8 pin for the cpu and either 2x 6pin pci e or 2x 8pin pci e.
I guess it wont go BOOM if I leave the 2 pin hanging since actually my psu has those 2 pin hanging as well (although they are like not in the same plastic thingy as the other 6, so its 6 in one piece of plastic the other 2 in another)
yeah, that 6pin pcie is usually called the 6 plus 2 pin pcie connector.
it should be fine if you do that, but for peace of mind, you could always get an extra 6pin extension if you choose to go with the pack with 2x 8pin pcie.
I think I will do that, and get 2x6 pin pcie connectors extra since Im going to do an SLI configuration with it.
Thank you.
