I speculate that the company has been making devices to order and in doing that waiting until x amount of orders for a particular product come in before they are actually manufactured. In doing that it will keep costs down for BFL increasing their profit but also making the customers that have already given them payment in full wait horrendous amounts of time before they will actually receive it and start attempting to break even on the investment they made by buying a mining device.
They have popped up on Trademe for the record of many, many times.
