Bioshock Infinite is on selling for $60 on steam right now and will probably go down when the summer sale hits. So my question is: is it worth it? I have heard nothing but great things about the game so I know its a good one but what I want to know from you guys is whats the replayability factor? If I put that much money into a game I want to get some good hours out of it, not just one campaign playthrough and that's it. I would appreciate your opinions.
I originally pirated the game, I beat it and liked it so much that I deleted it and bought it through steam.
I beat it through Hard difficulty again and unlocked 1999 mode. So now I'm trying to pass it a third time.
It's not on par with the replayability of a game like Mass Effect where you have infinite (no pun intended) possibilities as far as the story goes. However, it is still a great experience to be replayed over and over again, it's defintely worth the $40 that is being asked here,

Get it.
Definately is quite a long game as far as single player campaigns go these days, I didn't time it, but I'm guessing it lasted me about 20 hours, and about halfway through that I stopped looting everything I could find, and when I finished, I had unlocked hardly any of the upgrades - so it probably could last quite a bit longer than that if you wanted it too as well. That said, I wouldn't play through it again.
The story, and voice acting in it is fantastic; though, you will probably get to the end of it and be very, very confused about it all haha... Other than the story though, I didn't really like the game - thats not to say it's a bad game; just the gameplay is not really my thing. For me, it felt like I was trudging between places (killing hundreds of enimies along the way, which felt more like a chore than fun) wishing I would get to the objective already. Multiple times I found myself attatching to ziplines and just fleeing combat (those darn handymen) so I didn't die, then I would land, place a few more shots and run away again - this seemed to be the only way not to die, but doing this kind of thing in games is tedious and makes me feel like I'm cheating the system.
I got the game with an AMD graphics card, but after playing it, I think I would have rather sold the code than use it myself. I'm not saying it's a bad game, and I think I am one of the few people who feel this way about it, because everything I have seen about it say it is extremely good too.
As Nidpancho said, it will not have that much variance in the game a second time through, as it is very linear, but if that type of combat and gameplay is your thing, I'm sure it would be great fun to go through multiple times.
Don't let what I've said here put you off getting it though, it is a very good game (just not for me), and it's extremely polished as well. Just thought I'd post this as a bit of contrast to everyone else :P
I never played the first 2 either, btw.
All I have to say is hells yes get it. its one of the most entertaining games i played in a while i got it for free with my gpu but wow you just have to play it. I almost never bother with single player campaigns but this is really one of the entertaining campaigns i played since GTA SA. Now i am waiting for the next bioshock
To me, it's definitely not worth the full $60. It's way to linear for me. It is a good game overall, but there's not much replay value as pretty much everything about the game is linear. The enemy AI is retarded. The whole environment while beautiful, feels like a bunch of shooting galleries strung together.
