Bios update

Hi, to my understanding I need to update the bios of my ASRock H110M-HDS to get it working with my Pentium G4560. Can someone confirm this?

Im asking because after trying to boot my computer, the fans start spinning, then after a few seconds they stop for a second, and then continues spinning. And nothing else happens.

(I dont have access to a cpu that is supported by the current bios so I can update the bios. But I found a store that does it).

Thanks

You need bios P7.30 and without it you probably can´t use that CPU.

Okay thanks, thats what I tought. Ill take it to a store that can update it for me.

Double check your docs and/or the ASRock forum. Many newer mobos are capable of updating the BIOS w/ out a CPU installed.

I checked but it's not possible with my motherboard. I contacted ASRock support and they said that they would send over a new bios chip with updated bios.

Yeah, nice of them so send a new chip for free. But I had to wait on it for 3 weeks becasue they forgot to send it, but now it's here and i can finally play some games.

Inconvenient? Sure, no question.

But Asus probably would have told you to go fuck yourself ... assuming, that is, that you could even get their attention.
